Dear John Gibbs,
Thank you for sending me your itinerary for the Paris trip to Disney. It sounds wonderful, and my heart is slightly warmed by reading it.
I do have some questions, though. I'm unclear as to why you sent said itinerary to me. Am I invited? If so, am I expected to contribute to the not inconsiderable cost? And what portion? Am I allowed to bring a significant other? And if we are to share an expensive vacation, how will I know that it will be mutually enjoyable, having never met you? Perhaps we should meet in advance, or you could answer the following questions:
1. Would your spouse say that you are easy to get along with?
2. Why are you recruiting total strangers to go on vacation with you?
3. Have you ever been convicted of a violent crime?
4. Come to think of it, have you ever been convicted of a white collar crime, like hoodwinking unsuspecting total strangers into investing in nonexistent Disney vacations in Paris?
5. Maybe this questionnaire is superfluous. Is it?
Or perhaps you're not going on the vacation. Perhaps you have sent the itinerary to random strangers in hopes of creating friendships across international boundaries. In which case, I applaud your intentions, but would suggest exploring alternative methods of creating dettante.
Sincerely,
Mark Williams, M.A.
